Stroke Rehabilitation & Paralysis Recovery at Home
The first 90 days after a stroke are the most critical for recovery — but that's exactly when travelling to a clinic is hardest. Our neuro physiotherapists deliver intensive stroke rehab at home, and train your family as part of the care team.
Common Symptoms
- Weakness on one side of the body (hemiplegia)
- Difficulty walking, standing or transferring
- Poor hand function — grip, reaching, buttoning
- Speech and swallowing difficulties
- Balance problems and falls
Common Causes
- Ischemic stroke (blocked artery) — most common
- Haemorrhagic stroke (bleed)
- Traumatic brain or spinal injury
- Guillain-Barré syndrome
- Multiple sclerosis and Parkinson's
Our Home Treatment Approach
Every session is one-on-one, in your home, using evidence-based physiotherapy.
- Neuroplasticity-based task practice
- Mirror therapy for hand recovery
- Sit-to-stand and gait training
- Bobath / NDT approach positioning
- Constraint-induced movement therapy
- Family caregiver training and home safety
Maximum recovery happens in the first 6 months. Committed daily therapy in this window transforms outcomes. Long-term progress continues for 12–24 months with consistent home practice.
Stroke & Paralysis — frequently asked questions
When should stroke rehab start?
As early as possible — often within 24–48 hours of medical stabilisation. Home neuro physio can begin the day the patient reaches home from hospital.
How often are sessions needed?
Ideally 5–6 sessions per week in the first 3 months, then 3 per week. Family training multiplies daily practice.
Can my paralysed parent walk again?
Many stroke patients regain independent walking with structured rehab, especially if therapy starts early. We set realistic milestones after the first assessment.
